Multitank Britannia

Multitank_BritanniaMultitank Britannia is the best known chemical tanker is the fleet of Ahrenkiel Group. The vessel was built in 1996 in the ship-yard of Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo S. A. The ship-yard is high qualited and Multitank Britannia is part of the six sisterships built in this ship-yard for the German company. The parcel tanker has a length of 99.81 meters and a beam of 16.50 meters. The draft of the vessel is 6.79 and these measurements are giving to the ship deadweight of 5,800 metric tons, gross tonnage of 3,726 GT and net tonnage of 1,673 NT. The vessel is among the largest chemical tankers in the year of building, but today this is just a sailing boat compared with the large vessels of the all companies. The ship is pretty modern for the years of building and the main engine is MAN B&W 7S35 MC, which is giving a power of 4,165 kW at 145 rpm. The ship can reach maximum speed of 16.3 knots and cruising one is 14.2 knots fully loaded and 15.6 knots under ballast.

Multitank_Britannia_bridgeThe vessel has 2 auxiliary diesel generators, which are Caterpillar CAT 3508 - DI-TA, which are giving full power of 673 kWMultitank Britannia Bridge each at 1,500 rpm. Additional there is one shaft generator enough for cargo operations and maneuvering into ports. The heavy fuel oil used on board is HFO RMG 380. This is not bad fuel used for sailing, which is pretty ecological very environmental. In fact I have seen many times this vessel and I can tell that this ship is among the best vessels of the company. Many about this had made the resident captain of the Multitank Britannia, who is Kruse. The bridge is very good designed and high modernized.
Multitank Britannia is built in high rated ship-yard and all machinery and equipment is well reliable and well tested. The vessel has most modern cargo room equipment and the tanks are built from stainless steel. The category of cargo, which Multitank Britannia can carry, is class B (II category). The chemical tanker can carry 20 different cargoes, because the cargo systems is designed to parcel style. The navigational equipment on board is modern for the years of building, but in spite of this it is quite difficult for using from the navigational offices. We already explained about the features in navigational equipment of one of the sister-ships of this parcel tanker – Multitank Bolognia. That is why today we will not mention many information about this part of the ship.
