The Car Carrier has 10 decks, from which 2 are liftable. The capacity of the vessel is 3,930 cars, including heavy vehicles such as dump trucks, mobile cranes and bulldozers. The vessel has deadweight of 11,100 metric tons and the Gross Tonnage of 43,810 gross tons. The vessel Luna Spirit is modern and very innovative designed ship. The ship-owner is Fair Wind Navigation S. A. and the ship-yard, where the vessel was built is Shimonoseki Shipyard and Machinery Works. The vessel was finished in April, 2007 and is operating since the same month. The main engine of Luna Spirit is Mitsubishi-UE8UEC50LSII, which is very high power and low revolution engine, and gives a full power of 11,560 kW at 127 rpm. This wallows to the Car Carrier to sail with maximum speed of 19.9 knots. The cruising speed of the vessel is 19.6 knots. This is very high speed for vessel and allows it to be fast, reliable and very profitable for the ship-owner.

The capacity of the ship is for 3,930 cars, which can be loaded and discharged from two shore rampways installed on the middle and stern part of the starboard. The arrangement enables quick and efficient moving of vehicles. The distance between the cargo decks is about 2.2 meters, which is enough for loading of high roof vehicles. This is very important for the type of the ship and cargo compliance. Luna Spirit is very nice and beautiful ship in exterior design. The underwater shape of the hull is sharp, which reduces the water resistance and increase the speed with lower power of the engine. The propulsion system is strong and gives a high reliability for the vessel. The bridge and engine rooms are high improved from all other ships and equipped with most modern technique for calculating and watching the work of the machine or vessels in the vicinity. The engine is Mitsubishi with SIP (Swirp Injection principle), which is giving a higher power with lower fuel consumption. The consumption of lub oils is also decreased with 10%, which is making the engine very environmental and profitable for the ship-owner.
