Shin Sanyo Maru

Shin Sanyo MaruShin Sanyo Maru is newly built bulk carrier of the ship-owner company Antlers Maritima S.A. The ship was finished in February 2007, when was the fist test from the ship-owner. Shin Sanyo Maru is vessel built in Japan, into one of the best qualited ship-yards, and this is exactly Oshima Shipbuilding Co. The vessel has deadweight of 89,999 metric tons and is specialized to carry bulk cargoes. The vessel has a length of 235.05 meters, a width of 43.00 meters and a draught of 18.55 meters. Shin Sanyo Maru is middle size vessel, but pretty large bulk carrier. The ship is designed to be very effective and a lot of profitable. That is why the ship has maximum allowed Panama channel requirements, by width and draft. Shin Sanyo Maru is one of the series of double side coal carriers, which the shipbuilding company created. All the vessels are designed with innovative engine, form and size. Everything is more efficient, than the every other vessel. The cargo capacity of Shin Sanyo Maru is 108,929 cubic meters, divided into 5 cargo holds. The holds are designed specially with wider inner bottom area, which is making the discharging of the vessel easier and the cargo in the hold with nearly 5% more, than the every other hold shape.

Shin Sanyo MaruShin Sanyo Maru is vessel, which is looking large and beautiful, in spite of its middle size. The ship has main engine Mitsubishi 6UEC60LSII with power of 16,200 kW at 105 rpm. The economy (cruising) speed of the vessel is 14.5 knots, but the maximum speed that this ship can reach is 16 knots. The hull is sophisticated, which together with the main engine of Mitsubishi is making of great ship, with lower emissions of CO2, higher speed at lower fuel consumption per hour. Shin Sanyo Maru is vessel, which is made to be effective and profitable. The paint on the ballast tanks is with different structure and tar-free epoxy, which is more ecological and more effective, because the segregation period of that paint and protection, which it gives to the steel is higher. That is making this vessel ecological, secure and very, very cheap for support.

The navigational equipment on board is the newest possible one. The GPS is plotting to the ARPA the exact position of the ship, with mistake of less than 10 meters. The electronic chart equipment is decreasing the work of navigational officer of plotting ship’s position to the chart, and takes in the signal from AIS and ARPA and gives advices to the ship officer for the better maneuvering toward other ships. The ship is very maneuverable and for the officer is just like a game to sail with this vessel. The ship has no bow thrusters, but in the port it is mooring very easy with just a little support of tugs.
